When it comes to plants you can't beat the UK, that's for sure. I always drool over the Plant Finder and wish we'd have something like this in France (or elsewhere for that matter)...my nursery here is kept busy looking for the most unusual plants for our garden. We just have to see it as a challenge ;)

One more benefit of asparagus: It contains high levels of the amino acid asparagine, which serves as a natural diuretic, and increased urination not only releases fluid but helps rid the body of excess salts. This is especially beneficial for people who suffer from edema (an accumulation of fluids in the body's tissues) and those who have high blood pressure or other heart-related diseases. ..

Looking Good. Very mild here but hoping for a bit of frost soon to give the bulbs a boost. So much rain it's very soggy everywhere. My Jasminiun Nudiflora still not flowering but primroses started before Christmas. Too crazy. Happy New Year. Pam

We understand we live a privileged life here in our gentle Loire Valley climate – we still have a pot of Chrysanthemums in flower outside the front door from All Saints Day and don’t expect to see snow any time soon. On the other hand, Australian clients who toured a dozen or so gardens with us last year report they are expecting 40 °C for Christmas, so everything is relative!
