About this Blog

I first started throwing out my thoughts via a gardening blog back in 2004, when my wife and I had a busy garden design and landscaping company in Hertfordshire, UK;  in my spare time  I ran the gardening section of AOL’s UK web site and it was they who got me into the habit. All this is in the past.

Having moved to the wilds of central France in 2008-9, we have put our energy into learning a new language, renovating a large old house, walking the dog and running the Garden Design Academy.  I also garden, of course!

I trust my readers and I will continue to enjoy my literary efforts, with a new French twist and more than a little support from les bon vins de la Touraine. Please feel free to comment.

  1. Well, well, well, this is what we call up and running. The hut looks great…er…even bigger than it looked in the UK! This blog is up to your usual standards, but, will only cover part of the ongoing story of the Elliotts we want to hear about. Will expand via email shortly. J&J

  2. Needs an ‘s’ on the end of ‘bon’.
    Love the cyclamen picture.
What kind of trees are they?

Live in a villa on Crete, and while the house was ‘designed’, the garden most certainly wasn’t . I’d like to have a half dozen trees there with a similar feel.
Don’t suppose there’s any chance you know of anyone on Crete that could advise me on planting/design/costing?
    Best,
    Barrie.
